GUCKEN OHNE SEHEN - WATCHING WITHOUT SEEING

A research on the possibilities of a theater language for a completely non-visual movement & object theater, in which blind/visually impaired and sighted people meet on "eye level". How can theater experiences be created with senses other than the eyes?

In our visual-driven world, blind people have to adapt for the most part in order to participate. Most dance/theater/performance projects for this target group focus on audio description and tactile guidance, where they are allowed to touch the stage set, for example. I would like to explore the possibility of going a step further. How can I get to a theatrical language that can be "seen" entirely without eyes? What does it take to create a completely non-visual movement and object theater experience at "eye level"? For me, the key to this is the collaboration of the senses that create an experience. A movement can also be heard and we can also feel it, through the movement of the air near us . We perceive closeness with our thermal sensors and feel vibrations with our pressure sensors. Sounds awaken memories in us, they stimulate our imagination and create inner images and stories. How can I create theater experiences with these other senses? What can be basic tools for this? Where are the limits? Do the perceptions of people who cannot see and those who can see differ? ... I would like to explore the possibilities in different experiments, among others with the help of experts - blind people.
