SCHWARM
an audiovisual expedition

Cranes glide through the air. Carried by the wind, they cross the continents. What drives them? How do they plan their flight paths? What obstacles do they overcome? Inspired by this bird, which was already sung about in ancient times, Grotest Maru creates SCHWARM, a performance for urban and rural spaces. Crane figures more than three meters high dance in formations. Together with a mysterious figure on the ground, they invite the audience to an audio-visual excursion. Live-generated sounds, which enter the ears very directly through headphones, as well as projections mixed live by a Vjane expand these associative pictorial spaces on an acoustic and visual level. SCHWARM  welcomes the audience to re-enter the public space in community, to allow shared experiences and to be inspired to reflect on what happiness and a happy life can be and how this can be achieved without harming other beings.
