Hotels in the GDR were one of the few places where people from East and West could meet. The restaurants, night bars and rooms offered guests an unaccustomed level of luxury. Stasi surveillance was commonplace in the hotels. Employees from hotels in Eisenhüttenstadt and Frankfurt (Oder) told their memories of the hotel business for the documentary play. The performance takes place in several railway carriages furnished with original GDR furniture and objects.
